"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right (or power) to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." - John 1  Verses  12-13 If you are born again, you are born of God. This is not a natural kind of birth. It has nothing to do with flesh and blood. It has nothing to do with your father or mother. It is a supernatural birth. "The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1  Verse  5 (NIV) That's the power of the light. That's the power of the Word. That's the power of the Holy Ghost. I am referring to a specific light, the one that comes from the life of Christ. Christians are the light of the world, so the Bible teaches. We should appreciate this. Christians should therefore always shine in a manner that will confound darkness. However, if any Christian is not conscious of this status, to which they have been called, then they will always be overwhelmed by the devil. "In him was life, and that life was the light of men." - John 1  Verse  4 (NIV) John 1:9 reads: "The true light that gives light to every man was coming to the world." And He has already come, glory to God! There are several lights in the world, but there is only one true light. The true light continues to shine on you even when all that your eyes see is darkness. The true light gives light to every man. He gives light to you. Remember, this light comes from His life. When you embrace His life, you embrace His light. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through (or by) him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." - John 1  Verses  1-3 (NIV) This should get you thinking. Only the Word was in existence in the beginning. You were not in existence then; you only came into existence through the Word's powerful creative ability and purpose. In the beginning was the Word; so, in everything that you may plan or do, you should start with the Word. Top of everything else, you need to believe in Him and act only within His perfect will for you.  He is your creator!
