“What I am anxious to see in Christian believers is a beautiful paradox. I want to see in them the joy of finding God while at the same time they are blessedly pursuing Him. I want to see in them the great joy of having God yet always wanting Him.” A. W. Tozer

Sermon #35: Jesus - the way, the truth, the life

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6 (NIV)

He pre-existed everything. He created everything. Apart from Him nothing was created!

He tells us that He is the way, the truth and the life, so that we may know how to properly direct our lives. He also tells us that people can come to God ONLY through Him [i.e. Jesus].

It is important to note the following:
  • Jesus is not a way; He is THE way.
  • Jesus is not a truth; He is THE truth.
  • Jesus is not a life; He is THE life.
You might have anchored your life on a way, a truth, a life. If that's the case, then you've missed the point. A way, a truth and a life all come to an end at some point. But the way, the truth and the life are for eternity!

Won't you rather be directed by the creator than by the creation? Won't you listen to the one who was there in the beginning? Remember, if you ignore Jesus, it means you take yourself to be God. Do you appreciate what this could mean for you?

Instead of a life, I encourage you (if you've not already done so), to embrace THE life.
