“What I am anxious to see in Christian believers is a beautiful paradox. I want to see in them the joy of finding God while at the same time they are blessedly pursuing Him. I want to see in them the great joy of having God yet always wanting Him.” A. W. Tozer

Sermon #51: The Energy that Works in Us

"To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." - Colossians 1:29 (NIV)

Christ is the source of the energy that Christians use to achieve their goals.

We will always falter if we rely on human energy; we will always grow weary, sometimes to the point of giving up. But if we apply the real energy, we will always have a flame burning in our hearts, propelling us on, for good cause.

If Christ had relied on human energy, He would not have made it to the cross. Satan would have stopped Him in His tracks in the early days of His Ministry.

The most remarkable thing about the Christ energy is that it 'so powerfully works' in us. Glory to God! So powerfully! What a pleasant order of things! What more would one seek in life?

The first step, therefore, is to understand the energy that you should apply, not only in the work of God, but also in every good work that you may be attending to.

The second is to learn to apply this kind of energy, not sometimes, but under all circumstances. If you did this, you would be amazed at the outcome!

Remember, walking with God is what we are called to do.
